The Engineering Technolgy Leadership Institute (ETLI) held its annual conference from October 18-20, 2008 at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI. The sessions were designed for active leaders in ET with a focus on issues such as strategic planning, retention, green technologies, articulations, assessment, marketing & recruiting, and the status of ET on the national level. There was a specific ET Deans, Chairs & Administrators Forum at the end of the ETLI on Monday October 20, 2008.

Tau Alpha Pi News by Jay Porter and Bill Clapp
This year, Tau Alpha Pi held its first Student Paper Competition at the 2008 National ASEE Conference in Pittsburgh, PA and it was a great success! Our three student finalists; Szelynn Seal (1st Place) from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Bayron Guitierrez (2nd Place, tie) from Weber State University, and John Phelps (2nd Place, tie) from Rochester Institute of Technology, arrived in Pittsburgh on a Tuesday and had the opportunity to participate in some of the ASEE Conference activities. It is really great that so many individuals are interested in spending the time to help promote their interests and those of ETD.
